The newly nominated 2012 Board of Directors held its first meeting on December 21, 2011. The primary topics of discussion were 2012 Officers and Committee Chairs. This year Craig Thieman was nominated as President, replacing Steve Parker who stepped down after a five year term. Joining Craig will be Steven Nicley as Vice President and Will Jacobs as Secretary/Treasurer (replacing Brandy Bowlin who held the position for five years). Also, new Committee Chairs were assigned including Webmaster (John Bumpus), PR/Media (Frank Sellinger), Membership/Social (Curtis Barman), Social Media (Brandy Bowlin), Regulatory (Chuck Hogg).

New 2012 Board of Directors Holds First Meeting

On November 16th of this year, the KWA donated the proceeds from the annual charity golf outing to Kosair Children's Hospital Charities. This was the fourth such donation of $10,000 to the charity. The check presentation was held at the KWA's Annual Holiday Social at Churchill Downs' Millionaire's Row. The meeting was well attended with approximately 75 members joining for the pre-holiday gathering.
