The FCC released a Notice of Proposed Rule-

Making to examine access and pricing issues

with respect to wireless siting on utility poles.

This notice provides PCIA with an important

opportunity to inform policy-makers about the

inequities and uncertainties in the current regulatory

PCIA and the DAS Forum file Motion to Intervene

in CTIA vs. FCC challenging FCC

Back-Up Power Order

On December 10, 2007, PCIA and the DAS Forum

filed a Motion to Intervene in the U.S.

Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit in support

of industry stakeholders’ appeals of the FCC’s

order (released on October 4, 2007) requiring

24 hours of back-up power at all central facilities

and switches, and 8 hours of back-up

power at all cell sites. The Motion to Intervene

gives PCIA and the DAS Forum the option to

participate in the appeals process to express its

objections to the order, which places significant

burdens on wireless infrastructure providers.
